UTE PASS SOCIAL CLUB MONTHLY ACTIVITIES  2007-2008

BASKETMAKING: Chairwoman: Sheryl Powell (689-5650 or 689-5649). Members get together every other month or so to weave baskets. Each person is responsible for ordering her own supplies. Sheryl will try to get some of our very talented, expert basket-making members to take turns teaching a new one each time. Dates, times, and places will be published in the newsletter.

 

BIRTHDAY BUNCH: Chairwoman: Sheri Basey (387-9452). Each month, all members who have birthdays during that month are invited to lunch at a local restaurant. This is a great way to meet new people in a small setting. Sometimes, inexpensive gifts are exchanged, or gifts are brought for a charitable cause.

 

BOOK BELLES: Chairwoman: Pam Long (686-7523). Book Belles meet at 10am the first Wednesday of each month at the Woodland Park Library on the lower level. A different book is discussed each month. The group plans ahead and selects books two or three months in advance. You are welcome to join the group for one month, several months, or all months. The Book Belles strive for lively literary discussions and lots of fun.

 

BRIDGE:

All groups meet at 10am and bring a sack lunch, unless otherwise noted. Please call the Chairwoman to determine if space is available. You can always be placed on the substitute list.

Couples Daytime Bridge: Co-Chairwomen: June Leonard (687-3346) and Nitia Schroeder (260-1332). This group meets on the first Tuesday and is open to any combination of members and husbands. Form your team and call June or Nitia to reserve your place.

 

Couples Evening Bridge: Co-Chairwomen: June Leonard (687-3346) and Nitia Schroeder (260-1332). This group, which is presently filled, meets on the second Saturday at 6pm. Any combination of members and husbands can be put on the substitute list.

 

Duplicate Bridge: Chairwoman: Pat OÕDell (686-0776). This group meets on the third Monday of the month and is open to any combination of members and husbands. Form your team and call Pat to reserve your place or help you find a partner.

 

WomenÕs Duplicate Bridge: Chairwoman: Pat OÕDell (686-0776). This group meets on the first Monday of the month. Form your team and call Pat to reserve your place or help you find a partner.

 

Open Bridge: Co-Chairwomen: Carolyn Mattedi (687-8792) and Louise Stevens (687-2324). This group is open to all members. Call Carolyn or Louise to reserve your place. This group meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month at Mt. View United Methodist Church on Rampart Range (Woodland Park).

 

HAPPY HOUR:  This activity is held in the homes of club members every other month.  Each couple or single coming should bring an appetizer and the charge per head is $3.00 to cover wine/beer/setup.  Watch your newsletter for the upcoming Happy Hour times.

 

GAME DAMES: Chairwoman: Sue Saylors (687-0769). This group meets on the second Thursday from 10am until 2pm in the homes of members. This activity is open to members who are interested in having a fun day of games and conversation. The hostess and attendees pick the game of the day from dominoes to board and card games. Bring a sack lunch.

 

GAMES/BRIDGE/MAH JONGG PARTIES: Chairwoman: Dianne Shafer (687-1433). These three groups meet together twice a year for a fun day, including lunch. This is a chance to meet those who usually donÕt participate in your specific activity.

 

GUINEA PIG POTLUCK: Chairwoman: Vicki Jones (687-1952). This group meets at noon on the last Tuesday of every other month in homes of different members. If you are interested in good company and good food, this activity is for you. A different theme is selected for each meeting so each participant samples a variety of new recipes.

 

HIKING: Co-Chairwomen: Maureen Hatch (748-0188) and Rita Carter (687-9042). This activity meets on the first and third Fridays, and the starting time varies according to the season. If you like to hike, but donÕt know where to go or with whom, this group is for you. Join the group for easy to moderate trails. Husbands are welcome. Bring a sack lunch in the summer. In the winter, the group eats at a convenient restaurant.

 

MAH JONGG: Co-Chairwomen: Ellyn Robertson (687-2788) and Rhetta Bergman (684-0717). This group meets the second and fourth Mondays at 10am at the homes of different members. Mah Jongg is a tile game that originated in ancient times and is easy to learn. You do not need to be experienced to play. Come learn and laugh with us. Bring a sack lunch. Dessert is provided.

 

NEEDLE NUTZ: Co-Chairwomen: Sam Chisum (748-3746) and Marva Laudert (686-1642). This group meets the second Monday at 10am at SamÕs house. This activity is open to members who are interested in quilting, needlepoint, cross stitch, embroidery, knitting, crochet, beading, or any other needlework. The special project of this group is the Prayer Shawl Program for members of UPSC. Stitching, chatting, and getting inspiration from each otherÕs work is the goal of Needle Nutz. Bring a sack lunch.

 

POKER: Chairwoman: Bobbi Smith (687-3303). This group meets the first Wednesday at 10am at BobbiÕs home. Bring your nickels, dimes, and quarters for a fun day of Texas Hold Em and other poker games. Bring a sack lunch.

 

PURLIE GIRLIES: Chairwoman: Marcia Myers (687-6021). This group meets on the fourth Wednesday at 10am at the homes of different members.This group is open to members with basic knitting skills who like to knit a little and talk a lot. Bring a sack lunch.

 

SCRAPPERS: Chairwoman: Peg Hupfer (687-7524). This group meets the first Monday and third Thursday at 10am in PegÕs home. This is an informal group with all levels of scrapbookers. Join the group if you have photos tucked away that need a home in a photo-safe album. Bring a sack lunch.

 

SPECIAL ACTIVITIES: Co-Chairwomen: Carolyn Mattedi (687-8792), Jill Occhi (287-3785), and Sheri Basey (387-9452). Each month a special activity is planned. These may include visits to museums, shopping sprees, movies, Christmas wreath making, garden tours, ice sculptures in Breckenridge, mystery tours, and many other fun events. ItÕs always a special time and enjoyed by many Club members.

 

TOLE PAINTING: Chairwoman: Nancy Gulley (686-0380). This group meets on the third Monday from 10am to 2pm. It is limited to ten members, but there is a waiting list. No artistic experience is necessary. Bring a sack lunch.

 

MENÕS LUNCH BUNCH: Chairman: Ted Mueller (689-3270). This group of husbands of UPSC members meets on the third Tuesday at 12 noon for lunch and camaraderie at different restaurants. They also plan other activities if enough interest is shown.
